Biography

Nafise is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance at the College of Business, University of Rhode Island, having joined in 2021. Her research interests include empirical asset pricing, financial econometrics, risk management, and machine learning. She currently teaches Financial Management and Managerial Accounting to undergraduate students. Before joining the University of Rhode Island, Nafise worked as a business analyst specializing in financial feasibility studies for private equities. She also has a background in mechanical engineering, with several years of experience as a thermal control system designer. In addition, Nafise won first place in the graduate student research presentation at the 7th Analytics without Borders Conference, and subsequently received the Dean’s Excellence Award for outstanding teaching among doctoral students in Business at the University of Rhode Island in 2024.
