Biography

Rosemary Leger is a first year Ph.D. student in the Marketing discipline. Her research interests lie in consumer disposal behavior, sustainability and ethics in fashion, and the pursuit of circularity in the textile supply chain through textile and fiber recycling.

Rosemary received her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Communication from Lasell College. Prior to graduate school she worked in fashion journalism at Condé Nast’s Brides, Allure, and Self Magazines. She has also held positions in product development at The TJX Companies, Inc. and J.Jill.

In 2021 Rosemary completed her Master of Science in Textile Science through URI’s department of Textiles, Merchandising and Design. Her thesis assessed how the COVID-19 pandemic affected textile recycling organizations in the United States. Following graduation she was an entrepreneurial fellow in the University’s Launch Lab.
