Seray Ergene is an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business at the University of Rhode Island. She is also a URI Coastal Senior Fellow. She studies sustainability from various angles, including strategy and decision-making, environmental justice and racism, environmental ethics, social studies of science and technology, and feminist theory. Prior to URI, she conducted ethnographic research exploring sustainability in the textiles and fashion industry. After joining URI, she also studies ocean plastics pollution and collaborates with natural scientists on interdisciplinary projects. She is a member of the URI Internal Advisory Board for the new research initiative, “Plastics: Land to Sea COLAB”.
