Biography
Dr. Steve Winkel is the Vice President, Talent, Development & Engagement at Constant Contact and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Rhode Island’s College of Business. Steve also serves as a Board Member for NAMI CT.
In his professional and academic roles, Steve focuses on talent strategy and inclusivity, focusing on practical and scholarly views on organizational design, employee development, engagement, culture, diversity and inclusion. Steve’s professional career has spanned multiple HR roles, talent strategy and consulting, operational leadership and research with a proven track record of developing scalable, inclusive talent strategies that enable business acceleration across multinational technology, marketing, and research organizations. Steve’s research interests include mental health in the workplace, stigma, human resource management, employee sentiments, and retention.
Steve successfully defended his doctoral research in the Spring of 2025 at the University of Rhode Island’s College of Business. Previously, Steve completed the Wharton School of Business’s Chief Human Resources Officer Program in 2022; received his Master’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from Fairfield University in 2003; and his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and Vocal Performance from Fairfield in 2001.
