Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Sixcia Devine ’99.
Sixcia (pronounced six-see-ya) Devine ‘99 is a native Rhode Islander and earned a dual degree in Communication Studies and Spanish with a minor in International Development from the University of Rhode. She was also part of the talent development program at URI.
Sixcia represents a purpose focused generation of global service-learning, social entrepreneurship, technology, and volunteering. In 2010, she founded Caritas Smile. A social enterprise and volunteer-based nonprofit organization with a mission to empower both volunteers and communities in need in the Dominican Republic and across Latin America. The Caritas Smile, Take A Trip Change A Life Program creates a deeper understanding of service, nature, the spiritual-self, mindfulness, human connectivity while building sustainable infrastructures in developing countries.
Sixcia and her numerous stories of hope and inspiration are a living testimony that we really can “take small steps that have big impacts”. She is CEO of Sixcia Devine Marketing and is the only bilingual national trainer and keynote speaker for the Grow with Google partner program in the United States and Puerto Rico. Sixcia combines her humanitarian activism work and business philosophy by educating students, nonprofits, and corporate audiences, inspiring them to find inventive ways of giving back.
