CAREER CORNER – STUDENT SUCCESS DAYS

Spring semester is here and many of you are thinking ahead to summer internships and jobs. To help you prepare for the job search, the Career Team offered a few student success days. Focus on creating a professional business resume and the cover letter and thank you note that are also part of the process. Highlighting what goes into a great LinkedIn profile – one that will make employers take notice. Review the sessions below.

J-Term Opportunities – Job Shadowing Days

The University of Rhode Island College of Business Shadowing program is an excellent way to introduce our students to various career opportunities, while allowing companies to recruit new talent. The program is in person with possible options for virtual based on company and student preferences.

Business 390

All students take part in a Career Passport Program—a one-credit required course focused on key areas of career development and the job search process, including skill identification, goal setting, industry research, review of job search materials, and networking. In addition, you will participate in mock interviews, major-specific career workshops, and career event among other career-related opportunities.                                                                       

There are year-round career events, including an annual Career Day with over a dozen panel discussions, career fairs, industry nights, and guest speakers who are experienced professionals in their fields.
