The applicant is applying for admission to The University of Rhode Island Chinese Language Flagship Program, an intensive undergraduate Chinese language program for highly motivated students preparing for global careers. Flagship Scholars earn a Bachelor’s degree in a chosen academic discipline (i.e., engineering, business, political science, textiles, education, nursing) while working to achieve Superior language proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (ACTFL scale). The program includes intensive study of the Chinese language at URI and a Capstone Year in China, including content-based coursework in Chinese and a professional internship in the student’s field of study in China.
