Chinese Language Flagship Program

Capstone Year in China

Once you have achieved Advanced Proficiency in Chinese, and have completed at least Junior level coursework in your major, you will apply for the Capstone Year in Taiwan. This will be during your fourth or fifth year.

In the first semester of the Capstone Year, you will directly enroll at National Chengchi University, taking courses in your major in Chinese alongside Chinese students, as well as advanced Chinese language courses focused on writing and media studies with other Flagship students. You will share an apartment off campus with a Chinese roommate/or University dorm and connect with the community through service learning projects.

Following that semester, you will complete a 4-6 month internship in a Chinese organization specific to your discipline and career goals.
