The URI Computer Architecture Laboratory, directed by Professor Resit Sendag, studies how computers execute programs — and investigates ways to make them run faster and use less energy. Since 2005, the lab has combined rigorous simulation and workload characterization with hands-on FPGA and GPU prototyping. Our work spans branch prediction and prefetching inside a single CPU core, multicore and heterogeneous systems, hardware accelerators for AI, and generative-AI tools that help students and engineers work smarter.
