Jennifer McCann has been dedicated to her work at CRC for more than 20 years, serving in several roles, both internationally and domestically. She is now the Director of U.S. Coastal Programs, as well as Extension Leader for Rhode Island Sea Grant. Jennifer has long been committed to helping Rhode Island and coastal places beyond access the sound science they need to make informed choices for their coastal and ocean resources.
Currently, her topics of interest include the Rhode Island Blue Economy and offshore renewable energy (ORE) resources, and her focus is on making sure a broad array of stakeholders have the information and tools they need to have a voice in coastal and ocean resources dialogues. Her efforts regularly earn her awards; a recent award from the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association recognized the critical role she has played in providing recreational fishermen with a forum through which they can regularly provide input into how Rhode Island protects and maintains its ocean resources. She is thrilled to be sharing her Blue Economy and ORE knowledge with her current students. CRC is equally thrilled to have Jen lead the way for the U.S. Team!
