The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Abdeltawab Hendawi $250,000 for Global Centers Track 2: Blue Climate Solution, a project that aims to improve predictions of deforestation and degradation, understand dynamic changes in carbon storage, and develop effective conservation policies. The Global Center (GC) for Blue Carbon Solutions, a partnership between the US and Indonesia, will serve as an incubator for transdisciplinary research, coupling earth observations with citizen science and Indigenous knowledge.
