Our programs prepare students for positions as computer scientists and data scientists in business, industry and government, or for graduate study. We also support the general education of all URI students in computing, cybersecurity, data science and statistics, by providing them with practical knowledge to strengthen their programs of study.

Scholarship Opportunities

Several scholarship opportunities exist for students both enrolled at URI and those seeking to enroll from other institutions. Graduate Studies

The department offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, an M.S. degree in Statistics, graduate certificate in Cyber Security, and a PSM degree in Cyber Security. Our programs are committed to meeting the needs of both industry professionals and full-time graduate students. For selected full-time students, the department may offer teaching and research assistantships that pay a stipend and cover tuition, fees, and insurance.

The Center provides cutting-edge, comprehensive programs in both fields and conducts research to develop algorithms, tools and techniques for digital forensics and cyber security investigations.
