It’s Not Easy to Talk in Public When Most Are Not Listening!

The Economics Department hosted a special presentation on public speaking at 12 pm March 20th in Kirk Hall Auditorium. The speaker is Professor Robert E. Burns of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at URI. Professor Robert E. Burns has been teaching public speaking at the college level and coaching professional clients for over 30 years. His audio CD, How To Be A Confident Public Speaker! No More Stage Fright!, sells throughout the world, and his video, Speech Anxiety, has reached over 18,000 viewers. Professor Burns holds an advanced degree in Communication Studies from the University of Massachusetts, degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from Providence College, and a degree in Social Sciences and Research Methods from Roger Williams University.  Professor Burns also holds a national Advanced Teaching Certificate in Speech Communication and the Performing Arts.
