Polling Location Layout Diagrams

EDI has created more than 1,500 layout diagrams for election jurisdictions across the country. In 2026, with support from the Rhode Island Foundation and in collaboration with the Rhode Island Board of Elections, EDI developed more than 400 polling place layouts across Rhode Island.

Every polling place is different, and poll workers often set one up in a single morning. EDI builds to-scale 2D and 3D models of voting locations and equipment, then turns them into setup diagrams poll workers use on Election Day. Each diagram shows where equipment goes and which way it faces, how voters move through the room, and how to position screens to protect ballot privacy.
