Veronica Seeram

Biography

Veronica Seeram is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Elementary Education in the School of Education at URI. She teaches Social Studies Methods classes and is responsible for leading the development of the Elementary Education program(s), which entails serving as a liaison with RIDE and school/district leaders. Prior to joining URI, she taught as a special education teacher at Wakefield Hills Elementary School in West Warwick where she acquired a wide range of clinical training experiences and served in various teacher leadership roles. Veronica was born in Guyana (South America), grew up in Jamaica (West Indies), then migrated to the United States in 2000. After living in Michigan and California, she moved to Charlestown, Rhode Island where she resides with her family. As an educator, Veronica challenges herself each day to create engaging learning experiences where all learners are viewed as valued contributors to the teaching and learning process.

Research

Veronica is interested in exploring research in the areas of Co-teaching, Inclusion, Building a diverse, inclusive teaching workforce, as well as Education Policy and Advocacy.
