Biography

Mariam Mostafa currently serves as the inaugural coordinator for the Office of English Language Programs at the Feinstein College of Education, University of Rhode Island. Her background includes teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP), both in Egypt and the United States. Over the past five years, she has primarily focused on administrative roles, with a special emphasis on working with international students.

In addition to her current role, Dr. Mostafa dedicates her time as a volunteer peer reviewer for the Commission of English Language Accreditation (CEA).

Dr. Mostafa’s previous roles include teaching positions at three well-regarded Egyptian universities: the German University in Cairo, the American University in Cairo, and Cairo University. She has also held various administrative positions in different departments and offices at the University of Arkansas, including the Office of International Students and Scholars, Spring International Language Center, the Occupational Therapy Department, and the Higher Education program in the College of Education and Health Professions.

Finally, Dr. Mostafa has actively participated in the creation of educational opportunities by co-authoring grant proposals and organizing special programs for short-term exchange scholars coming to the United States. Additionally, she has played a role in assisting students from Egypt as they prepare to pursue their undergraduate degrees in the United States.
