The College of Education’s Database

All required documents for clinical placement and/or College of Education admission are submitted to the College’s COEDU Database.

Required documents can include, but are not limited to:

  • Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Background Check
  • District paperwork (OCPP or your instructor will let you know if this applies to you)
  • Licensure exams scores (for teacher candidates preparing for student teaching or final internship; meet with your advisor for more information)
  • SAT, ACT, or Praxis scores for admission

Documents such as intent to graduate, change of major/minor, etc. are submitted to the COEDU Academic Affairs office: cepsacademicaffairs@etal.uri.edu

Directions for submitting documents to the COEDU database:

  1. Enter the COE Database with your student ID. Click “Validate” and “Next”.
  2. Provide all of the information requested (in red) including your name, address and contact information, birth date, program, etc.
  3. Click on the “Submit New Document” at the bottom of the page and include the document date and type.
  4. Drag and drop your .pdf or .jpeg document into the empty box.
  5. Click “Continue”.
  6. Click “Submit New Document” to submit another document or click “Exit” to exit the system.
  7. You can log back into the COEDU Database at any time to submit more documents.
  8. If you encounter any issues, please email screenshots of what you see to ote@etal.uri.edu.

Please note:

  • There are a limited number of concurrent connections available to the COEDU Database. If you try to log into the COEDU Database and receive a message that there are no connections available, please try to log at a later time. We apologize for any hassle that this causes you.
  • The COEDU Database can only accept documents in .jpeg or .pdf form.
  • Please send screenshots of any issues that you encounter to ote@etal.uri.edu.
  • COEDU and OCPP do not keep copies of your records. Teacher candidates are responsible for keeping copies of ALL documents submitted to COEDU and OCPP. Neither office keeps copies of submitted documents nor can provide copies in the future. This includes your test score reports, BCIs, transcripts, etc. Don’t forget to keep hard and digital copies for yourself!
