Conference Program

The Mid-Year Conference replaces the Fall Symposium. There are no live team presentations; every team presents its poster and demonstration during the session in the atrium and the Capstone Lab. Please be seated by 1:45 PM.

Panels in Kirk Auditorium (to be confirmed). Dress code: suit and tie.

Panel 1: ELECOMP Capstone Leadership Team

Professor Harish Sunak, Professor Yan Sun, Mike Smith, and Mubariz Saeed on how the program has evolved, where it goes through the transition, the industry view of capstone-trained engineers, and the ELECOMP AI Policy, including findings from the student AI survey.

Panel 2: Capstone Designers

Student volunteers on the workload, the sponsor relationship, using AI under the program policy, and what they are walking into when they graduate.

Panel 3: Technical Directors

Technical Directors from sponsor companies on what their organizations are doing with AI in practice.

Technical Directors and guests attending the Mid-Year Conference can park using our event-specific parking permit. The voucher code will be posted closer to the event.

How to Obtain a Parking Permit:

1. Visit uri.aimsparking.com
2. Click “Order Event Permit”
3. Select “Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering” as Event Type
4. Select “ELECOMP Symposium” from the event options
5. Enter the Voucher Code: TBD
6. Click “Apply Voucher”
7. Select December 17, 2026
8. Complete the registration process
