The committee is responsible for: (1) developing policies for URI student learning outcomes assessment, data distribution, and measurement frequency at the university-wide level, with the Faculty Senate’s and the Provost’s approval; (2) developing an ongoing review of the learning outcomes assessment process, interpreting external expectations for university-wide learning outcomes assessment, including those of accreditation bodies, and facilitating internal communication across units regarding way of meeting those expectations, and (3) guiding the implementation and revision of the Academic Program Review process (UM sections 8.86.10 – 8.86.14) and serves as a resource to departments and programs being reviewed. The committee shall also develop an ongoing review of the learning outcomes assessment process, interpret external expectations for university-wide learning outcomes assessment, including those of accreditation bodies and facilitate internal communication across units regarding ways of meeting those expectations.
