This interdisciplinary major equips you to research, write about, and advocate for sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems—from your own neighborhood to the global stage. Because food systems intersect with so many other fields—sociology, history, journalism, nutrition, education, business, and beyond—the major is designed to pair with a complementary major of your choice, letting you bring your own disciplinary lens to the study of food.

You’ll explore the full food supply chain—production, processing, distribution, consumption, and waste management and recovery—and the cultural, social, economic, and policy forces that shape it at every step.
