The Department of Housing in Residential Life (HRL) houses approximately 6,000 students in numerous undergraduate residence halls and apartments and one graduate apartment complex. Housing options for first-year residents include 14 Living and Learning Communities.

Maintaining a safe environment is a top priority at URI, and HRL works closely with Public Safety and the Campus Police, emergency medical response, and fire safety team to ensure the safety of all residents is our top priority.  Our staff conducts fire drills and fire safety inspections of the residence hall at least twice each semester.  To learn more please contact your Hall Director.
