Apply for Housing
Spring Semester Only
Beginning October 30, 2023, the Department of Housing and Residential Life invites newly admitted and currently enrolled URI students who do not presently live in the residence halls to apply to live with us for the spring semester. No housing deposit is required.
NOTE: Incoming first-year and transfer students for Spring 2024 who pay a $500 enrollment/housing deposit will have the $200 housing portion of the deposit credited towards their Spring university charges.
Students will be assigned in the order their application is received after the Fall semester is complete (December 21, 2023). Students will be contacted by phone and/or their URI email when their assignment has been made. Students will not have the opportunity to select their own assignment; spaces will be offered based on availability and eligibility. Typically we have been able accommodate all students desiring spring housing. All new spring housing assignments will be posted in MyHousing by Friday, January 12, 2024.
All new resident student IDs will be active on January 18th for the spring semester. If you need to arrive a few days earlier, for any reason, once you have your housing assignment, you can log in to MyHousing and complete the Winter Break/J-Term Housing form to activate your ID to access your room. Your ID and PIN are used to unlock your room door. PINs are posted in MyHousing. Early spring arrivals will incur no additional charges.
To submit a Spring Semester Housing Application:
- Log into MyApps
- Select MyHousing
- Select the “Applications / Forms” tab
- Select and complete the “Spring Semester Housing Application”; make sure to complete all pages and click “Submit”
