Apply for Housing
Spring Semester Only
Beginning in late fall each year, the Department of Housing and Residential Life invites newly admitted and currently enrolled URI students who do not presently live in the residence halls to apply to live with us for the spring semester. No housing deposit is required for continuing students.
NOTE: Incoming first-year and transfer students for Spring 2027 who pay a $500 enrollment/housing deposit will have the $200 housing portion of the deposit credited towards their Spring university charges.
Students will be assigned in the order their application is received after the Fall semester is complete. Students will be contacted by phone and/or their URI email when their assignment has been made, typically in early January. Students will not have the opportunity to select their own assignment; spaces will be offered based on availability and eligibility. Typically we have been able accommodate all students desiring spring housing.
Housing anticipates new resident student IDs will be active on Thursday, January 21st, 2027 for the spring semester. If you need to arrive a few days earlier, for any reason, please watch your email for more detailed information about requesting an early arrival. Your ID and PIN are used to unlock your room door. PINs are posted in URI My Housing.
To submit a Spring Semester Housing Application:
- Log into MyApps with your URI SSO credentials
- Select URI My Housing
- Select “Apply for Housing (Undergrad)” from the dark blue menu across the top of the page.
- Select “Spring 2027 Housing Application” (Please note: This application is anticipated to be available as of early November 2026.)
- Make sure to complete all pages
