It’s getting closer!

2023 Move-In Dates

  • Incoming first year students will move in Friday, September 1st or Saturday, September 2nd.
  • Incoming transfer students will move in on the day their building is scheduled to open.
  • Returning students will move in on Sunday September 3rd and Monday September 4th.

Students will be able to select Move-In times based on their scheduled move-in date beginning on Wednesday August 9th.

*If you need a later move-in date, no worries! Your ID and PIN will be active! Please be advised that our staff will be assisting move-in at other buildings but we will have someone available in the staff office should you encounter any issues. 


Housing and Residential Life is located in the lower level of Hillside Hall and will be open 8:30am – 6:00pm on Friday September 1st – Monday September 4th.

Each residence hall will have a designated move-in date and students will select a move-in time in MyHousing the week of August 7th to manage traffic congestion.

Meal plans will begin on September 1st, but perhaps with restricted service. 

Students who may be participating in some URI special programs (e.g. Athletics, Band, Chinese Flagship, Leadership, ROTC, etc.) may have the opportunity to move in earlier than September 1st. Students should work with their program coordinator for details, including possible additional costs.
