Any Rising Sophomore (whether a current resident or not) wishing to live in a 2021-22 Academic Year residence hall or apartment MUST complete these steps (in order) by the respective deadlines to participate in the Room Selection process and have the greatest guarantee of housing:

1. SUBMIT DEPOSIT: Submit a $200 Housing Deposit by 4pm EST on Mar. 22. Deposits can be submitted online (link) or in-person at Green Hall. Deposits are refundable through 4pm EST on May 1 by submitting a Deposit Refund Request form in MyHousing.
2. SUBMIT APPLICATION: Submit at Returning Student Housing Application by 4pm EST on Mar. 25. You will have access to the application in MyHousing within three (3) business days of submitting your deposit.
3. SELECT ROOMMATES/SUITEMATES (optional): Search for, request and accept roommate matchings beginning Mar. 29. You can form groups with as many as five students (four others besides yourself). Or skip this step and go through the next step as a group of one.
4. SELECT A ROOM: Search for and select a room between Apr. 5 and Apr. 16. Groups of five can select from Garrahy, Wiley and Eddy between Apr. 5 and Apr. 7. Groups of four or less can select from all locations between Apr. 13 and Apr. 15, as long as they completely fill a space. Groups can select from all locations on Apr. 16, even if they are only partially filling a space.

Any Rising Sophomore who misses a deadline in #1, #2 or #4 above can apply for 2021-22 Academic Year Housing beginning 9am EST on Mar. 29 using the Waitlist Housing Application (see below). Students who apply for housing using the Waitlist Housing Application will not be guaranteed an assignment and will not be able to select preferred roommates, join roommate groups, or self-select a housing assignment unless invited into the Room Selection process.

Any Rising Junior/Senior (whether a current resident or not) wishing to live in a 2021-22 Academic Year residence hall or apartment will not be required to submit a housing deposit at this time. However, they should

• Submit a Waitlist Housing Application by 4pm EST on Mar. 25 for first-consideration after Rising Sophomores. If at 4pm EST on Mar. 25, the number of Returning Student Housing applications is less than the available Fall capacity for returning students, some Rising Juniors/Seniors may be invited on Mar. 29 to participate in the Room Selection process. Unless invited into the Room Selection process, students who apply for housing using the Waitlist Housing Application will not be guaranteed an assignment and will not be able to select preferred roommates, join roommate groups, or self-select a housing assignment. They will be assigned to housing, if space becomes available, in the order that applications were received. 
• Submit a Waitlist Housing Application beginning 9am EST on Mar. 29 for second-consideration. Students who apply for housing using the Waitlist Housing Application during second-consideration will not be guaranteed an assignment and will not be able to select preferred roommates, join roommate groups, or self-select a housing assignment. They will be assigned to housing, if space becomes available, in the order that applications were received.

Any student applying using a Waitlist Housing Application is also encouraged to use the URI Commuter Affairs website as a housing resource or inquire with the TI/IEP House and Greek Chapter houses regarding housing availability.
