The University of Rhode Island has released the URI Academic Affairs AI Task Force Report 2026. Developed through collaboration across the URI community, the report highlights progress and recommendations for the thoughtful and responsible use of artificial intelligence across teaching, research, and University operations.
The report addresses both the opportunities created by AI and important questions involving ethics, bias, access, policy, and implementation. A companion visual presentation provides a faster overview of the findings and recommendations.
For URI researchers, the updated AI at URI resource hub also brings together research consultation, collaboration opportunities, workshops, AI guidance, and access to computing infrastructure. The URI AI Lab, part of IACR, offers workshops in machine learning, deep learning, data science, generative AI, R, and Python, along with consultation and collaboration support.
