Why did you choose Kinesiology

I fell in love with teaching children through movement!  I chose Kinesiology for their MATCP program with certification in Health and Physical Education. I wanted this specific program because it was straight to the point and gave me the education I needed without having to take any unnecessary coursework.

What has been the best part of being a part of the Department of Kinesiology at URI

The hands on experience here is amazing. Having the opportunity to work directly one on one with students of all backgrounds and abilities has really given me the skills I need to become the best teacher I can be.  It’s a huge reason why I was able to get the job I did.

What advice would you like to give to students considering the program in Kinesiology

My advice would be to consider what fits you the best. The MATCP program fit me because I already had an undergraduate degree and wanted to become certified to teach. If this is you, then it’s a good fit!

What is next for you

I have just accepted a full time teaching position at Blackstone Valley Prep; I am really looking forward to starting my career and impacting the lives of our future youth!
