External transfers applying to URI as a Kinesiology major (both the Pre-Professional or Applied Exercise Tracks) must meet the following eligibility requirements, in addition to the general transfer admission requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.80
- C+ or better in a general biology or general chemistry course
- C+ or better in Anatomy/Physiology I
Important: Students that wish to transfer from an institution that offers Anatomy and Physiology separately must transfer in both courses – the first course in the sequence must be a C+ or better (the second must be a C or better in accordance with URI’s Transfer Credit Policy).
Applicants with more than 60 transferable credits will not be considered for admission to this major. Applicants who accept admission to any non-Kinesiology major will not be considered for on-campus change-of-major (internal transfer) at a later date. We do not anticipate any changes to this policy.
