Julia is currently the Deputy Chief of Marine Fisheries at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. She has worked for the state of Rhode Island’s Division of Marine Fisheries in a variety of roles, and has previously worked for the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, Duke University, the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and the Maine Department of Marine Resources.
