Level of Training:
(Level I – 2015) in PSY 478 Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Resolution Course, URI
About:
Matt joined the Center for Nonviolence & Peace Studies on the Alternative Nonviolence Spring Break trip to Nepal in 2015.
I plan to use the nonviolence education received in this course in my own activist work now and upon completion of my degree program. I have gained valuable knowledge and skills of how to approach injustice with love and peace which will serve me for the rest of my life. I hope to engage in nonviolent environment activism in the future and Dr. King’s teachings will be the cornerstone of my work. I am forever grateful to Paul and Kay for this work and what they have taught me this semester.
I also plan to use what I have learned regarding conflict reconciliation in my own personal relationships and how I approach any conflict externally as well as internally. I have learned wonderful skills for addressing the root causes of conflict and how to approach any difficulty with peace, love and understanding.
