About:
Kate is a recent graduate student at the University of Rhode Island (URI) Political Science department, who graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations, with a concentration in Diplomacy. She is a Research Fellow at the URI Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies. Her prior education is in Intercultural Communication, Linguistics, and Public Relations (M.A.) and Business Administration (A.A.). Kate’s projects and day-to-day work at the Center focus on the promotion of mutual understanding, conflict reconciliation, and the building of peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive communities. She assists, supports, and co-authors center-based research initiatives, including supporting expert panel construction, data management and analysis, and data collection. Kate has coordinated events on human trafficking awareness (workshop), and the “Mapping Misinformation” project.
Kate obtained her Level I (2022) and Level II (2023) Trainer certifications in Kingian Nonviolence and Conflict Reconciliation Trainings at the 23rd and 24th Annual International Nonviolence Summer Institute.
