About:

Aheli is a journalist working with The Morung Express, a newspaper run by the Naga people in the North East of India. She has been working on issues of human rights since 2008. Since 2011, her primary focus has been on the effect of violence in the Naga areas of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and Burma (Myanmar). Following
seven decades of militarization of the region, her newspaper seeks to create a platform for nonviolent social change in the region. Aheli and her teammates seek to bring together diverse voices of unrepresented peoples from far-flung areas, creating a habitat for reconciliation and JustPeace.
