I am a secondary education English teacher in North Providence, Rhode Island where I focus my energy on teaching students in the ninth grade about reading, writing, and thinking. Additionally, I am a co-director of the Rhode Island Writing Project, and a teacher-consultant with the National Writing Project. Last summer, I participated in the International Nonviolence Summer Institute and have taken what I learned back to my school in hopes to positively impact the culture and community in which my students live and learn. This academic year, my husband (who teachers at the same high school) and I started training both teachers and students at North Providence High School, and are developing a curriculum to offer a class on Peace & Nonviolence to students in our school.
