Katherine is a 19 year old daughter of Ecuadorian and Salvadorian immigrants. She is from Stamford, CT, and has four younger siblings. She is a rising Junior at Providence College and is majoring in Health Policy and Management and Public and Community Service Studies. Nonviolence is meant to keep peace despite adversity. Katherine says that through different social justice issues that have been perpetual throughout the past couple of years, society seems to have forgotten the value of respect. Growing up, her family taught her that there is dignity and respect for every human life. She believes that there needs to be an understanding of the value of the human person in order to help mediate conflict between polarized disputing parties.
