URI’s College of Nursing’s Third Routhier Lecture to be held at Butler Hospital
KINGSTON, R.I. – October 21, 2015 – The University of Rhode Island’s College of Nursing and the Routhier Foundation will hold the third of a four-part lecture series on Friday, November 13th at the Butler Hospital, Ray Conference Center 345 Blackstone Blvd. Providence, R.I. The theme for this panel discussion will be: “Leadership in Today’s Complex Health Care Environment: What’s Required?” Registration and a Continental Breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All R.I. nurses are invited to attend. Esther Emard, MSN, RN, MSLIR Visiting Scholar and Routhier Executive in Residence who has been organizing the Lecture Series will open the program followed by welcoming remarks from Lawrence H. Price, MD, President and COO of Butler Hospital.
Speakers for the lecture and their topics are:
Leah Binder, President & CEO, The Leapfrog Group, Washington, DC: Providing the perspective on national challenges that health care leaders need to address and the competencies required.
Dennis D. Keefe, President & CEO, Care New England Health Care System: Providing insight on knowledge, skills and competencies leadership required to address both the national and local challenges and what are the expectations of leadership team/individuals.
Lester P. Schindel, CEO Charter Care Health Partners: Providing a perspective on knowledge, skills and competencies leadership required to address both the national and local challenges and what are the expectations of leadership teams/individuals.
A panel discussion and questions from the audience will follow the presentations.
This is the third of a four-part lecture series designed to allow all of Rhode Island nursing colleagues to meet and exchange ideas on the many challenges our health care system is facing on national and local levels.
