Nursing Dean to host College Open House

The public is invited to a reception and tour of White Hall Oct. 1

College of Nursing Dean Barbara Wolfe invites faculty staff, students alumni, prospective students and the general public to learn more about the College during an Open House on Oct. 1, 1-3 p.m.

The open house will begin in the Florence Nightingale Garden outside White Hall on the Kingston campus. Dean Wolfe and faculty members will mingle with guests during a reception in the garden, which will include a display of historic nurses’ uniforms and photos, a recorded panel discussion featuring the College’s four retiring professors, and an expected visit from the Rhody Ram. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Guests will then have a chance to examine the state-of-the-art facilities inside White Hall during a tour of classrooms and labs, which includes an advanced simulation lab, allowing students to practice treatment on lifelike mannequins that actually respond to the care they receive.

The Open House is free and open to the public. No advance RSVP is required. In the case of inclement weather, the reception will move inside the dean’s suite. White Hall is located at 39 Butterfield Road on the Kingston campus.
