Biography
Ashlee Sackett is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing with expertise in perioperative and critical care, adult health, patient education, and care navigation. She is a nationally certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist who maintains her clinical practice in care navigation with an affiliation at Brown University Health.
As a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), Dr. Sackett is a leader in simulation innovation at URI. She facilitates full-scale disaster experiences and studies students’ perceptions of simulation modalities. Sackett is passionate about helping students navigate major transitions, from their days as first-year student to their final semester as they prepare to become professional nurses. She is interested in the evolving role of the registered nurse and is an advocate for smoothing the transition from student to professional practice through clinical immersion and high-impact simulation experiences.
Dr. Sackett is the president-elect of the Delta Upsilon at-Large Chapter of Sigma International Honor Society of Nursing. She serves on the board of the New England Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, aiming to advance the visibility and value of the CNS role throughout New England and beyond.
