Biography

Dr. Jung Eun (Jay) Lee’s research is on symptom science with a focus on sleep disturbances and fatigue symptoms. She is especially interested in developing novel symptom management interventions to improve quality of life and health outcomes for underrepresented populations with chronic conditions.

Dr. Lee speaks regularly at national and international conferences and has received the American Thoracic Society Abstract Award in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Her research on HIV-related symptoms is funded in part by the Rhode Island Foundation.

Dr. Lee advises a group of Undergraduate Research Fellows and has served as a Faculty Mentor for two recipients of the URI Undergraduate Research and Innovation Grant.

She is an active member of the American Statistical Association, the Oncology Nursing Society, the Eastern Nursing Research Society, the Global Korean Nursing Foundation, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She also serves as a Faculty Counselor for the latter.
