Biography

Dr. Sandra Basley, MSN, RN-BC, CNE is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing with practice expertise in the area of medical-surgical nursing, with an emphasis in cardiac, orthopedic, and medical oncology/hematology client care. In addition, her scholarly interests include double-duty caregiving-nurses caring for family members with a focus on end-of-life care. Professional interests also include innovative and interdisciplinary health care education. She is nationally certified in medical-surgical nursing and as a nurse educator. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Internal Honor Society for Nursing and is currently completing her PhD studies.

Basley is currently a member of the Rhode Island Collaborative for Interprofessional Education and Practice and the Rhode Island Interprofessional Community Preceptor Institute. She is actively working with an interdisciplinary team from Roger Williams Medical Center on developing specialized training for the care of patients undergoing immunotherapy for cancer.
