Biography

Dr. Stacey Bevan is a nurse scholar specializing in wellness for young families. Her research examines how caregivers navigate medical and educational systems when their child has developmental or behavioral symptoms. With bilingual clinical experience across the continuum of care, she investigates upstream strategies to prevent health-harming exposures and improve family well-being. She uses innovative research methods to build evidence for systems-level and policy reforms that strengthen community-based programs. Her work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation, and institutional grants.

Dr. Bevan’s interdisciplinary approach fosters collaboration with scholars in sociology, education policy, and public health. Her teaching philosophy integrates contemplative pedagogy, cultivating intellectual curiosity, and social consciousness in the classroom. Her teaching expertise includes pediatric neurodevelopment, nursing ethics, health systems and policy, and data science.
