Biography
Luisa is a second year master’s student in the Amin Lab. She graduated in 2022 from URI with a double major in Health Studies and Nutrition and Dietetics. She is currently a research assistant at URI SNAP-Ed and EFNEP. She also works at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro as a dietetic technician. Luisa enjoys running, traveling, and film photography.
Research
Luisa is passionate about outreach work that promotes nutrition and physical activity in underserved populations and working with the Hispanic/Latinx communities of Rhode Island. Her thesis is focused on studying the EFNEP peer educator facilitators and barriers to teaching physical activity to adult participants.
