Biography

Nick (they/he) is a PhD student in the Amin Lab, where his dissertation focuses on leveraging clinical-community partnerships to address food insecurity and promote evidence-based parental feeding practices. Outside of URI, Nick is an outpatient eating disorder dietitian and Assistant Professor at Johnson & Wales University. In his spare time, you can find him in the ceramics studio or chasing his dog around New England.

Research

Nick is skilled in qualitative and quantitative program evaluation, and brings almost 8 years of community-based child nutrition research and programming experience to the Department of Nutrition. Their research focus is on clinical-community partnerships to address food insecurity, and culturally relevant interventions to improve the wellbeing of youth. Their overarching goal is to conduct research that serves as a strong basis for affirming and supportive policies and programs that promote equity and improve social conditions.
