Getting Started

If you would like more information, please contact the clinic: 401.874.4263

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please contact our Intake Line at 401.874.4264 to speak with our Intake Clinician.

Our Administrative Offices are open Monday-Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Individual sessions are by appointment and are made with your clinician.

Intake Process:

  1. Phone Screen – A brief (10-15 minute) phone call with the Graduate Clinic Assistant to:
    • gather information regarding your needs
    • evaluate how we may be able to help
    • provide you with referral information if we are not the best place to meet your needs
    • provide you with information about our services, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have.
  2. Intake Evaluation – Within 24 hours of your phone screen, a PCC Clinician will contact you to set up an Intake Evaluation. All efforts are made to schedule Intake Sessions within one week of your phone screen. Your Intake appointment serves several purposes:
    • It gives you a chance to learn more about our clinic and the type of treatment we provide.
    • It provides us with a better sense about the specifics of what is most problematic so that we can individualize our treatment approach and set goals for therapy.

Upon completion of your Intake Evaluation, your Clinician will schedule your next appointment.

Confidentiality and Its Limits

Confidentiality means that any information that you share with a Clinician during the course of treatment will not be shared with others. Ensuring confidentiality helps to promote a trusting relationship between you and your clinician. There are, however, important exceptions to confidentiality, including (but not limited to) if your clinician suspects that you will be a harm to yourself or others, if your clinician suspects the abuse or neglect of a child or elder, and/or if clinical records are subpoenaed by a court of law.

Please feel free to discuss any questions about confidentiality with your Clinician or PCC Director. We like to keep the lines of communication open.
