Multicultural Therapy

Multicultural Therapy offers a lens for clinical treatment that takes into account clients’ unique and diverse life experiences. The foundational principles involve an appreciation for cultural differences, areas where cultural identities may intersect or diverge, respect for cultural traditions and practices, and openness to the impact of our cultural experiences on our world-view. Multicultural therapists consider the contribution of cultural issues to client concerns and incorporate clients’ cultural understanding directly into clinical treatment.  The Multicultural Therapy team at the PCC is supervised by Dr. Nicole Weiss, Ph.D.

Clinicians on this team work with clients across Rhode Island including the Providence Center, Memorial Hospital, and Providence Community Health Center, in addition to the PCC.
