65th Annual Youngken Clinic offers pharmaceutical discussion, continuing education credit

The conference on Nov. 3 features nationally renowned physician, author, journalist and TV host Dr. Bob Arnot

The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy will present its Heber W. Youngken, Jr. Pharmacy Clinic on Nov. 3, offering pharmacists and pharmacy technicians valuable continuing education credits, and featuring nationally renowned physician, author, journalist and TV host Dr. Bob Arnot.

The 65th annual edition of the conference hosted by the URI Office of Healthcare Workforce Development will be presented as a hybrid in-person and virtual event. The program runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 at the Radisson Airport Hotel, 2081 Post Road, Warwick. It will also be presented virtually via Zoom. In addition to insightful discussions and lectures on some of the key pharmaceutical issues facing the profession today — including pain management, cardiovascular health, immunization updates, and more — the program will offer five live contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit.

The conference’s keynote presentation will be delivered by Dr. Arnot MD, best-selling author and former chief medical correspondent for NBC News, CBS News and MSNBC. Arnot, host of multiple documentaries on such networks as Discovery and CNN, is a board member of Healthtech Without Borders, Global Outreach Doctors and Humanitarian Relief. Other presenters include some of the leading local voices in the pharmaceutical sciences industry, including URI College of Pharmacy lecturer Thomas Kalista, CVS Health Fellows Yousra Bouzaghar and Russell Neill, and R.I. Department of Health Associate Director Jacqueline Grace Kelley. URI College of Pharmacy Dean Paul Larrat will present annual scholarships awarded to current URI pharmacy students.
