Biography

After a successful career as a Clinical Pharmacist at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI and Butler Hospital in Providence, RI, Dr. Coutu is back at his alma mater as a preceptor for the Pharmacy Outreach Program. In addition to his precepting duties at the University, Dr. Coutu also instructs Certified Nursing Assistants through the State Approved Training Program in Drug Administration. Dr. Coutu is also the Lead Instructor for the Pharmacy Technician Training Program at the Community College of Rhode Island.

Outside of his work as a pharmacy educator, Dr. Coutu serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Southern Rhode Island Volunteers, a non-profit that provides critical services to Washington County residents. He has held many volunteer roles within the organization since 2011 and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2012.
