Biography
Dr. Hume’s teaching and scholarship has included geriatrics, integrative medicine, and interprofessional education/practice. She continues to be a co-leader of the RIGEC / Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) interdisciplinary student team training program in Pawtucket where she mentors P4 students in geriatric assessment twice a month. She received the URI College of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year award in 2010 and 2014. In 2021, Dr. Hume received the Elise M. Coletta, MD Geriatric Education Leadership Faculty Award from the Brown University Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Hume has published extensively and is a reviewer for many primary care and pharmacy journals. She has been an Associate Editor of the APhA Handbook of Nonprescription Drug Therapy since 2010. Dr. Hume is active in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and is a past Chair of the Ambulatory Care Practice and Research Network.
