Today, most COVID-19 conversation is about the when and where of the vaccine. But the country’s public health experts have been clear—now is not the time to take our foot off the gas when it comes to testing. Continued access to affordable, reliable testing is essential.
That is why the new COVID-19 test, developed by a team of researchers at the University of Rhode Island, is so important. Because it is saliva-based, URI’s test is less invasive than many of the traditional nasal swab tests, and our researchers say it is sensitive, specific, and can deliver results at a lower cost.
