Biography

My interests include clinical research in cancer and stem cells. Last year I had the opportunity intern with multiple myeloma research at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Institute. Now I’d like to gain experience in a quality control/assurance, which is crucial in development and manufacturing of new products for pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Through my internship at URI’s cGMP facility, I am learning first hand responsibilities of a QA/QC personnel. I am learning to author SOPs for equipment and for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product, and maintaining all records in accordance with cGMP guidelines. I plan on eventually attending graduate school to pursue a career in medical research, but first I’d like to work in quality control for a pharmaceutical company because it ensures the generation of reliable and accurate results, crucial for any healthcare industry.
