Dr. Matson is a member of Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group. Her additional memberships include American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Lambda Kappa Sigma, Post-Polio Health International, and American College of Clinical Pharmacy, to which she serves as a pediatric collaboration committee member.

She coordinates and teaches extensively in PHP 440: Advanced Pediatric Pharmacotherapy elective course and other pharmacy practice courses. Through the pediatric elective, Dr. Matson has established an outreach initiative that provides pharmacy students an opportunity to teach health education topics and participate in health fairs for local elementary and middle school children. Additionally, she works with local educators to help provide substance abuse education to Rhode Islanders.


Judicious antimicrobial use to prevent and control bacterial resistance, and the use of novel antimicrobials within the pediatric population; substance abuse education; childhood nutrition and obesity prevention; education of pharmacy students.
