Biography

Meghan McCormick is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She joined the department in 2021.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut and was a veterinary technician prior to returning to graduate school for a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Kentucky. She was an epidemiologist at the Kentucky Department of Public Health and the Rhode Island Department of Health. Her main areas of interest are overdose prevention and fatality reviews. Prior to coming to URI she served as the Acting Chief of the Center for Health Promotion at Rhode Island Department of Health, overseeing the Drug Overdose Prevention, Tobacco Control, and the Violence and Injury Prevention programs.

Professor McCormick teaches in the areas of epidemiology, data analytics, and data management. She also serves as the Director of the Graduate Certificate in Medication Outcomes.
